Problem statement

At RIPE NCC we have 7 different teams who manage around 7 different products including:

• RIPEstat
• RIPE Atlas
• LIR Portal
• RIPE Database
• RIPE Academy
• RPKI
• RIPE IP Map

The current mechanism or process in place to communicate design changes across the board needs to be improved. These applications look and behave differently than each other.

DIFFERENT LAYOUT DESIGN USED BY RIPE PRODUCT

Usually, the companies have a good ratio of designers to the developer. At RIPE NCC we have around 45 engineers and 4 designers in which we have one UX and one brand designer while 2 designers are focused on RIPE Academy.

Often we end up with different blue color buttons or different dropdown selectors it happens because we do not have a one reference point to look for and every team comes with their interpretation of what is suited for them.

GOOGLE PRODUCTS WITH A COHERENT DESIGN LANGUAGE
